MUNFW offers a wide range of programming designed to deepen delegates' understanding of international diplomacy and global issues. Delegates have access to specialized training workshops that build skills in negotiation, public speaking, and resolution writing. Beyond the committee rooms, MUNFW provides unique opportunities to connect with United Nations experts, seasoned diplomats, and San Francisco-based Consuls General, offering firsthand insights into real-world diplomacy and international affairs. Experts Roundtable and UNITAR Training Session
The UNITAR (UN Institute for Training and Research) Training Session is an opportunity for delegates to learn vital information on resolution writing from experts in the field with experience writing, negotiating, and passing resolutions at the United Nations. The Session also includes a round table discussion and Q&A session with conference speakers and honored guests, many of whom currently work for the United Nations or in diplomatic missions in New York. Past round tables have included discussions on working at the United Nations, job duties and responsibilities of Member State diplomats, and ways to market Model UN experience when applying for jobs in International Relations and other fields.
MUNFW Consuls-General Program
The MUNFW Consuls-General Program brings together representatives from San Francisco based Consular offices and student delegates representing their respective countries to discuss the conference’s agenda topics from the perspective of these UN Member States and their national priorities. Consular representatives have also discussed issues related to working in the field of international relations and diplomacy. The Consuls-General Program is an exciting opportunity for schools and country teams to meet with and learn from experts in the field in a small group setting.
